Overview

During the 10-week Jumpstart accelerator program at The Garage, our goal was to turn an exciting fidget interaction from a robotics lab into a flagship product around which to build the toy startup, Sanooke.

Behind The Scenes

user interviews, research synthesis

I guided our team of four in applying best practices to uncover key insights into user preferences, needs, and tensions. I structured interview notes with targeted data points, clustered and tagged themes, and translated these synthesized findings into product development decisions.

Developing Insights

An open card sort from an interview during design research.

While brainstorming new color variations for Dodex, I made a Figma prototype to invite people to co-create their own Dodex in Figma. I brought the most-picked prototypes to life by printing stickers for Dodexโ€™s rhombic faces.

โ€œDodexโ€ Fidget Toy x Puzzle

packaging, display, playing cards

The final display package was minimal and cost effective. I created dielines in Adobe Illustrator.

Puzzle cards categorized across four levels.

A magnetic display stand, allowing users to stack and show off their Dodex at the desk, or elsewhere.

Solution Overview

Whether it's a quick one-handed distraction during a meeting, a focused challenge with a level 5 puzzle card, or a display piece to impress passersby, Dodex adapts to its userโ€™s pace, making even the smallest moments of play meaningful.
